We are so excited to officially welcome you into our brand-new office space right here in Westford! This marks the third home for OWL Pediatric Therapy, and each move has been made possible because of the incredible support from all of you.
Over the years, each of our spaces has taught us something about how children actually use the environment. You might remember our second office with the big coffee table right in the center. It looked lovely, until we realized the children saw it less as a table and more as a perfect racetrack for running in circles! Needless to say, the table had to move. We’ve learned that if a space invites more “stop running!” than “keep playing,” then it’s not set up in the right way for kids (or their parents!) That lesson continues to guide us as we design each new environment.
Our new suite features therapy offices, a sensory/motor room, a therapy prep space, and an admin office. Many of our favorite toys and furniture made the move with us, but we also have exciting new additions to keep therapy fun, engaging, and child-centered (For example, our new play kitchen and a new light box!)
Our most exciting addition is our new motor room, complete with a swing and crash pit. We’re also thrilled to share that we have welcomed an occupational therapist to our team. She’ll be spending parts of her sessions in this shared space to help children build strength, coordination, and self-regulation. But this room isn’t just for OT: it’s available to any child who needs a little extra regulation support during their therapy sessions. Sometimes the best breakthroughs happen when kids are moving. Just last week, one of our students practiced the tricky “r” sound while swinging back and forth. Proof that even the most challenging skills can be tackled when therapy feels like play.
Although the location is still in the same building, families will notice a slight change: at the top of the stairs, you’ll now turn left instead of right to find us.
With this next step, we’re thankful for the families who show up with us week after week, the kids who turn therapy into adventure, and the community that makes it possible for OWL to keep evolving. We can’t wait for you to visit, explore the new space, and see what’s ahead. Thank you for being such an essential part of OWL’s story.
