Alyssa Zenitz Maybury is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with specialized experience in children’s mental health across outpatient, in-home, school-based, and early childhood consultation settings. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Developmental Psychology with a minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Worcester State University. Alyssa is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and is deeply committed to developmentally appropriate, neurodiversity-affirming care.
Alyssa integrates evidence-based practices with creative, child-centered approaches—drawing on bibliotherapy, narrative therapy, play therapy, mindfulness, and expressive arts techniques to support emotional regulation, resilience, and social-emotional learning.
As the Family Support Coordinator at OWL Pediatric Therapy, Alyssa provides non-clinical support to children, families, and clinic staff through psychoeducation, parent coaching, and skill-building. She designs and facilitates social skills groups and workshops that foster social communication, emotional awareness, coping strategies, and sensory-friendly participation for all types of communicators. She also helps families navigate systems of care and access community resources.
After several years devoted to full-time parenting a child with special needs, Alyssa returned to professional practice with a renewed perspective on the complexities of family systems and caregiving. Her work is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a deep respect for each child and caregiver’s unique journey.
